o   Personal observations of how this applies to the Christian woman today.

Judges 4:4-10

  • The Christian woman is ever watchful, and recognizes her role in fulfilling the Will of God, communicating truthfully and effectively in every situation.
    • In our service to others, it is the job for us women to settle any disputes amongst our children, and even between our husbands and our kids – being neutral and clarifying both sides justly.

2 Kings 4: 8-13

  • The Christian woman looks for ways she can be helpful to others without asking for anything in return.
    • In our service to others, us women need to be willing to open our home to anyone who wants to visit or needs a place to rest.

Proverbs 31: 10-31

  • The Christian woman does not burden others with her worries, not even her husband and children, until she has first sought wisdom from the LORD.  She seeks out solutions to her problems and reaps the rewards of her perseverance, especially from her husband and her children who proclaim it to anyone who will listen.
    •  In our service to others, us women shouldn’t be afraid to step outside our comfort zone to help others.  Our husbands should be able to trust our judgment, and our kids should feel at ease with our decisions.

1 Timothy 5: 1-16

  • The Christian woman is aware of her physical limitations but does not dwell in self-pity.  She does not purposely take on more than she can handle at one time, however she makes herself available as often as is needed.  She is not too proud      to ask for help and refrains from casting judgment on others who cast a blind eye or deaf ear to her plight, leaving all in God’s hands.
    • In our service to others, us women should not hide behind our weaknesses, but work with them as an invalid would with crutches.  Some effort is better than no effort.  We should also not boast in our abilities or become overconfident to the point of believing we can do more than we are capable of.  We should not be afraid to ask for help, and we should not be bitter and/or resentful if help is not available for any reason.

She Is Useful

Obedience to the Will of God is the only way that emancipation of woman is achieved.

o   Personal observations of how this applies to the Christian woman today.

1 Kings 17: 7-16

  • The Christian woman will not be surprised when she finds herself with an opportunity to serve others in a specific place at a specific time.  She will simply do what is needed all for the glory of God.
o   In our service to others, us women don’t need to be obsessing about how we can be serving others; we simply need to keep our eyes open for the opportunities to present themselves, and then our focus should be to serve in a way that brings glory to God only.  And while we may be praised for our efforts, our reaction and/or response should always bring glory back to God.

Luke 21: 1-4

  • The Christian woman does not boast of her success nor does she groan of her failures.  She simply lives one day at a time in the joy of the LORD.
o   In our service to others, us women need to be content in whatever circumstances we find ourselve in, and believe that God can use us anywhere, anytime; regardless of what anyone else expects.

2 Corinthians 8: 1-15

  • The Christian woman does not grow weary in doing good.  Her passion to serve remains fresh and alive in order to be fully used by God and thus give Him all the glory.

o   In our servie to others, we need to be energetic and ready when we see a need, to be available to help meet that need, so that others may be blessed by God.

She Is Charitable

Loving our neighbors is how emancipation of woman is clearly evident to all.

o   Personal observations of how this applies to the Christian woman today.

Romans 2:1-16

  • The Christian woman is not resentful of the surmounting need that surrounds her, that daily clamors for her attention, which would sap her strength and still, ask for more.
o   In our service to others, us women need to be watchful of when we become overwhelmed by all of our responsibilities that no one else can accomplish, and  to purposefully be joyful that God has called us to these tasks, and thereby receive renewed strength from God.

Romans 14: 1-23

  • The Christian woman does not scoff at the shallow minded, nor does she mock the philosophically minded.  She recognizes that all God’s children walk along the same path, but may experience the journey differently in many varied ways.  She seeks the lessons both perspectives can provide.
o    In our service to others, us women need to be careful not to show our disgust toward those who cannot discern what we can, and we shouldn’t be envious of those who are of greater intellect than ourselves.  We need to recognize that God can use both to teach us.

1 Corinthians 4:1-21

  • The Christian woman doesn’t read into matters what is not there.  She examines the black and white facts of the matter, and if there are any gray areas, she studies, researches and investigates the matter until she has a clear understanding of the matter, according to God’s Will.
o   In our service to others, us women cannot make an analysis based on the comments of others alone.  We must dig deeper for the source of their information.  If they are not willing to divulge that information, then we cannot go any further.  To continue would be unfair to all involved.

James 4: 1

  • The Christian woman is not quarrelsome.  She is not a disturber of the peace.  She is not malicious, vindictive or spiteful.  She does not manipulate circumstances to her advantage.  She is not presumptuous in her thinking.
    • In our service to others, us women must not allow ourselves to be drawn into a debate to make our point, but rather agree to disagree to keep the peace.  We cannot allow the ways of others to disgust us; rather we must show respect.  We should not try to coerce someone to do something for us that we can’t do ourselves, and we shouldn’t be so naïve as to think that others believe the way we do.

Proverbs 11:1-31

  • The Christian woman is always looking for whatever she has available to share, because she gives freely with all her heart, without any strings attached.
o   In our service to others, us women need to remember that the greatest gift we can offer is our heart, knowing that as long as our motives remain pure, God will bless our efforts, regardless of what anyone else says, thinks or does.

Proverbs 21:1-31

  • The Christian woman can always find a way to help others, even if she has nothing to give, she can still pray for those in need.
o   In our service to others, us women need to remember how God has comforted us in our darkest hours, and that He has enabled us to be a comfort to others in their hour of need – even if that comfort can only come through prayer over the situation.

Proverbs 28:1-28

  • The Christian woman trusts that whatever she chooses to share and however she chooses to give it, the Lord replenishes her stores.
o   In our service to others, us women must purposefully experience the Joy of the Lord when we give of ourselves to help another through their difficulties.  Through no effort of our own, we will find our energy restored, be granted more time, discover extra money… whatever the need, the Lord will bless our generosity.

Ecclesiastes 5: 8-20

  • The Christian woman does not hoard her possessions and find herself with a hardened heart, nor does she squander her earnings and find herself with a grieving heart.
o   In our service to others, us women do not want to be selfish and withhold oursleves from our family, nor do we want to be so careless as to expend our resources toward an insincere cause.

Isaiah 43:14-28

  • The Christian woman does not wait for God to force from her hands what He wants to use from her life to help others.
o   In our service to others, us women must remember that our life is not our own, nor do we have any right to hold onto family.  They are gifts to us that require our stewardship.  When our job is finished, we must be willing to give them back to God.

Malachi 3:7

  • The Christian woman does not spend her earnings selfishly on herself.

o   In our service to others, we need to recognize that the blessings we receive from God may not simply be for us alone, but to pass on to another in need.

She Is Knowledgable

Knowledge of the scriptures is the difference between a woman’s bondage or emancipation.

o   Personal observations of how this applies to the Christian woman today.

Proverbs 18:1-24

  • The Christian woman draws out the truth, but does not jump ahead of God to use it to bring events into motion.
o   In our service to others, us women must rembmer that though God has granted us the gift of discernment, we cannot bulldoze our way into others’ lives without their prompting or God’s leading.

Proverbs 28:1-28

  • The Christian woman is not obsessed with being in control, but rather recognizes when she needs to pass on the baton to a worthy teammate.
o   In our service to others, us woman must pay close attention to the many factors that weigh in the matter of our abilities.  We am limited by our availability through time, resources, knowledge and health.  We need to be willing to ask for help or suggest a better person for the assignment in these circumstances.

Jeremiah 5:1-31

  • The Christian woman “looks” for the way that pleases God, and “listens” to His leading.
o   In our service to others, us women need to be “in tune” with the Word of God in order to “see” what He wants us to see, and to “hear” what He wants us to hear – in other words, to have an open mind to Him.

Matthew 13:10-23

  • The Christian woman is not easily distracted by the cares of this world or what it has to offer.
    • In our service to others, us women should have no need to watch the news, read the newspaper or listen to the radio, because all that we will be exposed to is doom, gloom and every type of advertisement that only leads to corruption.  We need to trust our husbands to shield and protect us from the filth of the world, as God designed for them to do as the “heads” of our households.

She Is Discerning

Discernment enables us to perceive the difference between bondage and emancipation.

o   Personal observations of how this applies to the Christian woman today.

Matthew 15:1

  • The Christian woman does not merely take information at face value – she studies the motives and meanings within and behind the information.
o   In our service to others, us women need to make sure our mind are not  consumed with daydreams and fantasies… we need to be alert to our surroundings and the happenings around us so that we are prepared for whatever we need to do.

Matthew 16:5-12

  • The Christian woman is familiar with the “art” of speech, and is careful not to become ensnared in any unseen trap.
o   In our service to others, us women need to watch out for the people that like to hear themselves talk, especially those who know “big” words.  We don’t want to get caught in that trap and make others feel uncomfortable or intimidated by our knowledge.

Luke 9:37-45

  • The Christian woman’s faith is strong enough to carry her through circumstances and situations that are beyond her understanding, enabling her to simply accept what happens.
o   In our service to others, us women need to trust that God knows what He is doing.  When we find ourselves overwhelmed by all the commotion in our life, we need to just ponder everything in our heart and take it to the Lord in prayer – not burdening our family or friends with our uncertainties and shortcomings.

Luke 18:31-34

  • The Christian woman is careful when she sees and hears of things happening in the world that she doesn’t understand, not to formulate opinions based on speculation.  She will simply trust that God knows all things and is in control of all things.
o   In our service to others, us women need to remember that Jesus said that it is not for anyone to know the hour and manner in which things are to occur.  We must be willing to leave that in God’s capable hands, Who brings things about by His own authority (Acts 1).

Luke 24:13-35

  • The Christian woman does not scoff at the incredible, nor does she mock the impossible.
o   In our service to others, us women need to live by the simple motto, “If the Bible says so, then it is”.  It is not right for us not to believe simply because we don’t understand, and it is not right for us to be frustrated with others who cannot understand because their beliefs are different from ours.

John 14:7-14

  • The Christian woman recognizes that she doesn’t always have to “witness” Christ to others,  but makes sure that others can “see” Christ in her just by observing her lifestyle.
    • In our service to others, us women will be blessed when living our life rightly, others see Christ in our life.
